Man shows up at Martinsville hospital with gunshot wound


MARTINSVILLE, VA – A man was hospitalized after in a shooting in Martinsville Wednesday night.


The Martinsville Police Department says it was notified by SOVAH Health that a man suffering from a gunshot wound was being treated there at around 11:11 p.m.


When officers arrived at the hospital, they were told that the victim, 30-year-old Jonathan Jeral Brim, was dropped off by a vehicle.


Police said Brim did not provide much detail as to how or where he was shot before he was airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

After speaking with witnesses at the emergency room, officers determined that Brim was likely shot in the area of 1159 Yorkshire Road.


Police went to Yorkshire Road, processed the scene, collected evidence, spoke with residents of the apartment building and determined that an argument had occurred in the parking lot.
