HENRY COUNTY, VA – Cheyenne Marinus has been appointed assistant principal at Axton Elementary School for the upcoming academic year.
The Henry County School Board made the appointment at its Thursday morning meeting.
“I am extremely excited to work with the Axton Eagle Community,” Marinus said. “I am eager to see the students succeed academically, emotionally, and socially. I can’t wait to meet the awesome staff and work closely with Ms. Seay to continue student success at Axton Elementary.”
Marinus has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Ferrum College and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Old Dominion University.
She has served as an elementary teacher at Mount Olivet Elementary School since 2019.
“I am pleased to have Mrs. Marinus join Axton Elementary as an administrator,” Superintendent Dr. Amy Blake-Lewis stated. “Her enthusiasm for student success will serve the Axton community well as they continue the critical work of student growth and achievement.”
