MARTINSVILLE, VA – On Monday, a Martinsville grand jury issued 136 indictments and the Martinsville Police Department shared photos of 11 of those indicted who were arrested.
Indictments are not an indication of guilt. It is a grand jury’s determination that enough evidence exists to hold a trial.
61 of the indictments were sealed for five days.
Here are the indictments that were made public:
29-year-old Lina Leticia Alvarez, of Martinsville, was indicted for maliciously releasing or caused to be released in a private home, a noxious or nauseating gas or mixture of chemicals designed to, and capable of producing vile, injurious or nauseating odors or gases, resulting in bodily injury, on or about August 27.
43-year-old Todd Hanna Barnes, of Bassett, was indicted for false affidavit regarding boating laws and dispose of, conceal, or embezzle a Triton bass boat, motor and trailer, obtained by false pretense a boat and trailer title, on or about January 18.
39-year-old Robby Allyn Barrett, of Martinsville, was indicted for committing rape by having forcible sexual intercourse with a female against the victim's will, by force, threat or intimidation or through the use of the complaining witness' physical helplessness, on or about April 9.
24-year-old Shakira Naiasia Lowe, of Martinsville, was indicted for malicious wounding, on or about June 17.
23-year-old Demarquise Rashad Lucas, of Martinsville, was indicted for destroying personal property valued at more than $1,000, use of a firearm in the commission of a robbery, take personal property of another, on or about March 4.
30-year-old Lamar Tyrell Niblett, of Martinsville, was indicted for possession of a firearm after having been convicted of a violent felony, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, on or about August 26, 2019.
41-year-old Darrell Lee Nichols, of Martinsville, was indicted for possession of ammunition for a firearm after having been convicted of a robbery, possession of a firearm after having been convicted of a robbery, shoot into an occupied dwelling, on or about June 27.
37-year-old Terrance Antwain Penn, of, Martinsville, was indicted for possession of with intent to sell cocaine, on or about December 7.
28-year-old Vijayan Marche Taylor, of Martinsville, was indicted for breaking and entering in the nighttime with the intent to commit larceny, take the property of another, obtain money by false pretense, on or about December 21 through December 22.
18-year-old Logan Gaige Thomas, of Axton, was indicted for threatening to bomb, burn, destroy or damage a place of assembly, building, or other structure, engage or cause to engage in sexual intercourse against a complaining witness' will, by force, threat or intimidation, on or about June 7.
38-year-old Robert Dale Whitt, Jr., of Mount Airy, NC, was indicted for having sexual intercourse against the person's will, by force, threat, or intimidation, penetrate the labia majora or anus with an animate object against a person's will by force, threat or intimidation, on or about May 27. Have sexual intercourse against the person's will by force, threat or intimidation, penetrate the labia majora or anus with an inanimate object against the person's will by force, threat or intimidation, on or about November 1, 2018, and November 30, 2018.
29-year-old Christopher Justin Stegall,of Penhook, was indicted for petit larceny, third offense, on or about September 17.
45-year-old Michael Jonathan Taylor, of Martinsville, was indicted for stealing a credit card, steal personal property having been twice before convicted of two larcenous offenses, on or about January 24.
31-year-old Jonathan Vargas, of Martinsville, was indicted for disregarding a visible or audible signal from a law enforcement officer, on or about March 10.
60-year-old William Alonzo Vaughn, of Martinsville, was indicted for disposing of or embezzle personal property received by trust or employment, on or about October 15, 2019, through April 9. Taking merchandise without paying after having been twice before convicted of larcenous offenses, on or about March 21.
34-year-old Rodney Brent Walker, of Martinsville, was indicted for distribution of marijuana while knowingly and the intentional possession of a firearm, on or about April 13.
67-year-old Sara Shaw Walker, of Martinsville, was indicted for possession of methamphetamine, on or about May 4, 2019.
45-year-old Vanessa Lee Warren, of Martinsville, was indicted for possession of methamphetamine, on or about February 18.
30-year-old Rashad Andre Williams, of Collinsville, was indicted for possession of cocaine, on or about April 2, 2019.
42-year-old Michael Joseph Kevin Webb, of Rocky Mount, was indicted for failure to appear, on or about September 17.
29-year-old Alisha Danielle Brown, of Martinsville, was indicted for possession of heroin, on or about June 10, 2019.
40-year-old Travis Lee Bryant, of Patrick Springs, was indicted for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, having previously been convicted of two or more such offenses on or about January 8.
29-year-old Tahj Jerome Capel, of Martinsville, was indicted for failure to return a rented vehicle on or about November 24.
40-year-old Kelly Nicole Carter, of Martinsville, was indicted for failure to appear on or about October 19.
53-year-old Gerald Duane Cassell, of Martinsville, was indicted for possession of fentanyl on or about July 13, 2019.
30-year-old Kevin Alexander Cotant, of Martinsville, was indicted for possession of methamphetamine on or about February 14.
39-year-old Chasity Spencer Craig, of Spencer, was indicted for possession of methamphetamine on or about November 26.
43-year-old Joseph Andrew Eggleston, of Martinsville, was indicted for possession of methamphetamine on or about February 3. Possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine on or about October 30, 2019.
44-year-old Brian Eugene Finley, of Martinsville, was indicted for possession of hydrocodone on or about November 19, 2019.
37-year-old Jason Isaac Fitzgerald, of Martinsville, was indicted for possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine on or about June 8, 2019.
24-year-old Karson William Foley, of Stuart, was indicted for failure to return a rented vehicle or on about April 22.
32-year-old Danielle Nicole Gravely-Price, of Chesapeake, was indicted for possession of cocaine on or about May 16, 2019.
37-year-old April Jeneane Hannigan, of Axton, was indicted for possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin on or about June 2, 2019.
39-year-old Ray Anthony Harris, Jr., of Danville, was indicted for possession of a firearm after having been convicted of a non-violent felony within 10 years on or about May 24.
33-year-old Brittany Chiffon Hughes, of Martinsville, was indicted for failure to appear on or about September 9.
54-year-old Howard Leroy Hunt, of Martinsville, was indicted for possession of cocaine on or about September 28, 2019.
22-year-old Patricia Beth Inman, of Collinsville, was indicted for distribution of methamphetamine, marijuana, and heroin, possession of a firearm while in possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance on or about March 30, 2019.
43-year-old Brian Edward Janey, of Martinsville, was indicted for possession of methamphetamine on or about June 12, 2019.
38-year-old Tyrone Alexandria Johnson, of Bassett, was indicted for failure to re-register with the Virginia sex offender and crimes against minors registry on or about November 10.
47-year-old Harvi Odell Keith, of Martinsville, was indicted for failure to re-register with the Virginia sex offender and crimes-against-minors registry on or about January 28. Failure to update residential address within three business days of any change with the Virginia sex offender and crimes-against-minors registry on or about March 5.
39-year-old James Michael O'Neal, of Martinsville, was indicted for failure to appear on or about August 11.
43-year-old Rodney Taylor Martin, of Collinsville, was indicted for possession of methamphetamine on or about November 22.
33-year-old Erica Lane Mills, of Bassett, was indicted for possession of heroin on or about June 9, 2019.
35-year-old Jay Steven Mogyoros, of Ridgeway, was indicted for possession of methamphetamine on or about December 4, 2018.
48-year-old Tiffany Tuggle Moore, of Martinsville, was indicted for possession of heroin on or about June 9, 2019.
53-year-old Stacey Leon Moss, of Martinsville, was indicted for possession of cocaine on or about January 5.
36-year-old Brandon Lee Moxley, of Bassett, was indicted for take, steal, and/or carry away personal property of another on or about February 20.
20-year-old Jaqueline Ortiz-Lopez, of Ridgeway, was indicted for possession of cocaine, on or about November 4, 2019.
23-year-old Curtis Tesley Pilson, of Martinsville, was indicted for failure to stop for law enforcement, on or about February 7.
42-year-old Jordan Edward Scales, of Martinsville, was indicted for driving while under the influence after having been convicted twice of the same offense within a 10-year period, on or about March 23.
32-year-old Anthony Samuel Santillo, of Collinsville, was indicted for two charges of failure to appear, on or about September 16.
49-year-old Michael Rufus Seay, of Martinsville, was indicted for take, steal, and/or carry away the personal property of another person after having been convicted twice of the same offense, on or about January 30.
