Martinsville Man Stabbed, Suspect Arrested and Charged with Malicious Wounding

A 48-year-old man from Martinsville, Virginia, is undergoing medical treatment after being stabbed in the early hours of February 26.


The incident occurred in the 700 block of Fayette Street, where Martinsville Police officers responded to a call around 6 a.m.


Upon arrival, officers found the victim with a stab wound to his torso.


He was promptly transported to SOVAH Health hospital for treatment, but his current condition remains undisclosed.


Law enforcement officials were able to detain a suspect near the scene, identified as Roberto Gomez-Telles. Gomez-Telles has been arrested and charged with malicious wounding in connection with the stabbing.


Gomez-Telles is currently being held without bond at the Martinsville City Jail, pending further investigation and potential trial.


The Martinsville Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident and is seeking additional information from the public.

Crime Stoppers is an anonymous tip line, and individuals who provide information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,500.


The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.


The Martinsville Police Department is urging anyone with information to cooperate with the investigation to ensure justice is served.
