A missing persons case in Henry County has been resolved after a woman who had been out of contact with her family since November 2024 was located on January 5, 2025.
Sierra Rose Dickerson, who had last been in touch with her family in November, was found safe after fleeing from officers in Martinsville.
On January 3, 2025, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office received a report from Dickerson's family expressing concern after they had not heard from her since late November.
Deputies began investigating her whereabouts, discovering that her last known contact was with a Henry County deputy on December 13, 2024. With no further leads, investigators intensified their search.
On January 5, 2025, investigators from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with the Martinsville City Police Department in an effort to locate Miss Dickerson.
During this time, the Martinsville-Henry County 9-1-1 Center received a call reporting an individual refusing to leave a residence on Forest Street in Martinsville. When Martinsville Police arrived on the scene, Miss Dickerson fled the home, prompting a brief foot chase.
Officers were able to quickly locate her, and it was determined that she had chosen not to contact her family.
The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Dickerson’s well-being was not in danger and that she was not involved in any criminal activity. Authorities clarified that she had voluntarily distanced herself from her family and had made the decision not to communicate with them during this time.
Her family has been notified of her current location, and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office has concluded its search for Miss Dickerson.
Authorities emphasized that they are no longer seeking information about her whereabouts.
While the case is now resolved, local law enforcement encourages anyone with concerns regarding missing persons to immediately contact the appropriate authorities to ensure a swift and thorough investigation.
