
Collinsville, VA – (BTW21) March 14, 2025 A man wanted by authorities in both Henry County and the City of Martinsville was arrested Thursday morning following a dramatic vehicle pursuit through the Collinsville area.
Around 10 a.m., deputies with the Henry County Sheriff's Office (HCSO spotted an SUV speeding down Stultz Road at an alarming rate and traveling in the wrong lane, heading directly into oncoming traffic.
The vehicle closely resembled one driven by 52-year-old Gregory Yuron Campbell, who was wanted in connection with several charges.
Deputies quickly confirmed the driver was Campbell, who had multiple outstanding warrants.
He was wanted by Martinsville authorities for three counts of probation violation, with additional charges including delinquency of a minor, child abuse, and felony eluding police.
Furthermore, Campbell had several warrants out of Henry County for charges including three counts of misdemeanor credit fraud, two counts of felony credit card larceny, and one count of misdemeanor petit larceny.
As deputies initiated a traffic stop, Campbell ignored their commands and sped away, leading a high-speed chase through the streets of Collinsville, Fieldale, and Bassett.
Both Virginia State Police and Martinsville Police joined the pursuit in an effort to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
The chase, which saw speeds dangerously exceeding safe limits, ended when law enforcement officers were able to box in Campbell's SUV and bring the vehicle to a stop. He was arrested without further incident and transported to the Henry County Jail, where he is awaiting further charges and hearings.
Campbell’s arrest follows a series of criminal investigations into his activities, and his apprehension is seen as a significant victory for local law enforcement agencies.
