On Thursday, October 3, 2024, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, alongside the Narcotics Interdiction Unit and SWAT Team, executed a narcotics search warrant at 58 Sanville School Rd., Bassett, VA.
During the operation, deputies seized suspected methamphetamine, an unidentified tan powder, a rifle, and digital scales.
All suspected narcotics will be forwarded to the Department of Forensic Science in Roanoke for analysis.
As a result of this operation, two individuals were arrested:
Cody Cheyenne Moore, 31 years old, of 58 Sanville School Rd., Bassett, VA, faces the following charges:
Possession of a Controlled Substance (Virginia Code § 18.2-250)
Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of a Schedule II Drug (Virginia Code § 18.2-308.4)
Distribution of a Controlled Substance while on or near School Property (Virginia Code § 18.2-255.2)
Maurice Antonio Underdown, 39 years old, of 64 Oakgrove Park Ln., Bassett, VA, faces multiple charges, including:
Possession of a Controlled Substance (Virginia Code § 18.2-250)
Possession of a Firearm by a Non-Violent Felon (Virginia Code § 18.2-308.2)
Possession of Ammunition by a Felon (Virginia Code § 18.2-308.2)
Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of a Schedule II Drug (Virginia Code § 18.2-308.4)
Distribution of a Controlled Substance while on or near School Property (Virginia Code § 18.2-255.2)
