August 29, 2024– New College Institute (NCI) is excited to announce that its King Hall Testing Center, located at 30 Franklin Street, is now an approved ETS Certified Test Administrator Services (CTAS). This new certification allows NCI to offer the Praxis® test among its array of testing services.
NCI Executive Director Joe Sumner remarked, "When we realized that Longwood @ NCI students were traveling long distances to take the Praxis® test, we saw this as a significant barrier. The expanded capabilities of the King Hall Testing Center will enhance opportunities for our students and the community. This addition underscores our commitment to strengthening the pipeline of current and future educators, made possible through valuable partnerships like Longwood @ NCI."
Longwood University Associate Professor of Education and Site Coordinator at New College Institute, Dr. Pamela Randall, added, “The availability of Praxis® exams at NCI is a significant benefit for our students. Previously, they had to travel to Roanoke or Greensboro for testing. Local availability will save them time and money, and we greatly appreciate NCI’s support in making this possible for our Longwood @ NCI students.”
Starting September 10, 2024, the NCI King Hall Testing Center will offer Praxis® tests on Tuesdays at 10:30 AM, Thursdays at 1:00 PM, and on the second Saturday of each month at 10:00 AM. In addition to Praxis®, NCI offers proctored, monitored, and secured tests for Pearson Vue and CLEP®. Private testing and accommodations are available upon request.
