PATRICK COUNTY, VA – It has been nearly 5 years since the closing of Patrick County’s only hospital.

Its then owner Pioneer Health Services, based in Mississippi, closed Pioneer Community Hospital in September 2017, over a year after filing for bankruptcy protection.

The facility located at 18688 Jeb Stuart Highway had 25 beds for critical care and it now has a new owner.

Foresight HS Property Holdings – Blue Ridge, LLC, based in Chicago, purchased the hospital last week with the aim to reopen it, according to a spokesperson.

The spokesperson said “timelines will be announced at a later date.”

This is a developing story and it will be updated once more information is available.
