
The Danville Police Department has identified Officer Kayla Robinson as the officer involved in a shooting on Monday, February 17, 2025, in the 2100 block of Riverside Drive.
Officer Robinson, a two-year veteran of the department, was wounded during the incident.
As per department policy, the name of the officer involved in a use of force resulting in death or serious injury is only released after a 72-hour waiting period. Officer Robinson, who serves in the Patrol Division, was injured but is expected to return to work once she is cleared.
Upon her return, she will be placed on administrative assignment while the Virginia State Police continue to investigate the shooting.
