The Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) men's soccer team has earned a #17 ranking in the 2024 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Preseason Polls. Following back-to-back Region 10 championships and a win as the 2023 Atlantic District champion, this recognition marks a significant milestone for the program and sets high expectations for the new season.
"We're incredibly excited to see our team recognized on a national level," said Head Coach Brennan Murphy. "This ranking is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and talent of our student-athletes, as well as the unwavering support from our coaching staff and the entire P&HCC community."
The P&HCC soccer team has been preparing intensively throughout the preseason, aiming to build on their past successes and continue their path to excellence. The roster features a strong mix of returning players and fresh talent, all eager to make a substantial impact on the field.
"The preseason ranking is a great honor but also a motivating factor for our athletes to demonstrate their skills throughout the season," said Assistant Vice-President of Student Engagement and Athletic Director Brian Henderson. "Coach Murphy’s teams are known for their hard work, focus, and commitment, which has been evident in their consecutive championships."
With a history of nurturing talent and emphasizing sportsmanship, P&HCC's soccer program is well-positioned for a promising season, bolstered by strong community support and a commitment to both academic and athletic excellence.
The season opener is set for August 22, when P&HCC will take on Pelissippi State in Knoxville, Tennessee. Fans, students, and community members are encouraged to support the Patriots as they embark on what promises to be an exciting and competitive season.
