P&HCC’s Brian Henderson Named to NACDA Good Works Team Committee

Martinsville, VA

Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) is proud to announce that Brian Henderson, Assistant Vice President and Athletic Director, has been selected to serve on the inaugural Allstate National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Good Works Team Committee.

This prestigious honor recognizes Henderson’s dedication to excellence, leadership, and advocacy for student-athletes both on and off the field.

The announcement follows NACDA’s new multi-year partnership with Allstate to launch the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team.

This initiative builds on the legacy of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, which has honored college football players for their off-the-field contributions since 1992.

The new NACDA partnership will expand the recognition to 60 exceptional student-athletes annually, across all seasons and sports, including winter, spring, and fall.

As a member of the nine-person selection committee, Henderson will help identify student-athletes whose achievements in community service, academic excellence, and athletic performance embody the highest ideals of college athletics.

The committee will recognize 20 athletes each season—10 male and 10 female—representing all collegiate divisions.

Henderson joins a distinguished group of leaders on the committee, including representatives from each collegiate division, ESPN, and Allstate: Ross Bjork (Ohio State) – Division I, Etienne Thomas (Winston-Salem State) – Division II, Natalie Winkelfoos (Oberlin) – Division III, Reagan Rossi (College of Idaho) – NAIA, Dan Guerrero – NACDA Past President, Sam Acho – ESPN, Holly Rowe – ESPN, and Dan Keats – Allstate.

“I am truly humbled to serve alongside such esteemed colleagues on the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team Committee,” said Henderson. “Community service and student-athlete development have always been central to my philosophy as an athletics director, and I am excited to contribute to this important initiative that highlights the extraordinary work being done by student-athletes across all divisions.”

Henderson’s selection underscores his impactful leadership at Patrick & Henry Community College, where he has long been a strong advocate for the transformative power of athletics.

His role on this committee further elevates the reputation of P&HCC’s athletic program and its commitment to student success.

The first class of Allstate NACDA Good Works Team honorees will be announced in 2025, recognizing student-athletes whose service efforts inspire and uplift communities across the country.
