HENRY COUNTY, VA – Patrick & Henry Community College softball sophomore Danielle King has been named to the National Junior College Athletic Association All-America Second Team and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Second Team.
King, a Patrick County resident, becomes P&HCC's first NJCAA All-America softball selection since 2012 and the third in the program’s history.
King was the steady beat of the Lady Pats lineup, providing a .468 batting average from the leadoff spot, according to P&HCC.
She was named P&H Outstanding Sophomore at the 10th annual athletics awards banquet, while garnering Academic All-Region 10 honors as well.
The community college said that at the conclusion of the regular season, she was first in Region 10 DIII softball in runs (53), third in hits (59), second in doubles (17), third in triples (3), fourth in RBI’s (40), and sixth in steals (12).
With these numbers, King was named the Region 10 DIII Softball Player of the Year.
