Brian Maurice Green

PATRICK COUNTY – An arrest has been made in the death of a Surry County, North Carolina woman.

Investigators say 45-year-old Brian Maurice Green of Ararat is responsible for the drugs found in Jessica Rachel Stanley's system.

According to Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith, 30-year-old Stanley was found dead from an overdose in Green's home on Greentown Road on August 23, 2018.

The Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Forensic Science Laboratory reports that

Stanley died from a lethal dose of Fentanyl and Methamphetamines.

Brian Green was arrested Wednesday and charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I or II controlled Substance

  • Distribution of Schedule I or II controlled substance

  • Maintain Common Nuisance (drug house)

"We have lost too many young people to drug overdoses. If you provide the drug that kills someone, you will be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," Smith stated.

Green has not been charged with homicide in Stanley's death, but investigators say he could be.

Smith said that this is still an ongoing investigation and more people may be subject to Indictment.
