MARTINSVILLE, VA
Patrick & Henry Community College’s Racing College of Virginia is gearing up to compete at Martinsville Speedway in the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 this weekend with their new driver, local racing veteran Jimmy Mullins.
With over 300 career wins, Mullins—known to his fans as “Mr. Excitement” for his dynamic racing style—is thrilled to be returning to Martinsville alongside the Racing College team and P&HCC motorsports students in the pit.
“I feel very blessed. I know these kids are learning, and I’m still learning every time we race, so maybe they can teach me something this year,” Mullins said. “We’re going to have a good time and aim to make the field. If we do, we’ll put on a great show.”
The Racing College team has been hard at work preparing for the race, spending time in the shop and testing at South Boston Speedway.
“Renee and I will be at the race on Saturday, and we can’t wait to cheer on the P&HCC car and all of our motorsports students,” said P&HCC President Dr. Greg Hodges.
