Acting on information provided by the North Carolina State Bureau Of Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, investigators from the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office executed a Search Warrant today at 159 Circle Loop in Reidsville.
During the search, Jeffrey Wayne Whitaker, 63, residing at the location, was arrested. He faces charges of two counts of Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
Whitaker is listed on the North Carolina Sex Offender Registry due to a prior conviction in June 1982 for 2nd Degree Sex Offense in Forsyth County.
Sheriff Sam Page of the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office expressed gratitude to the North Carolina State Bureau Of Investigation ICAC Task Force, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the Invictus Task Force for their collaboration in this investigation.
Whitaker was brought before the Magistrate and has been detained without bond.
This decision was made because Whitaker was already under Pretrial Release conditions for an Indecent Exposure charge pending trial.
The investigation remains ongoing.
