At approximately 5:13 a.m., officers responded to a report of an assault in the area.
Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered a woman suffering from significant injuries.
Despite efforts to provide aid, she was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.
A short time after the discovery of the victim, a male suspect was taken into custody in connection with the incident.
