Rockingham County Man Arrested for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor

REIDSVILLE, NC – (BTW21) On April 2, 2025, a collaborative effort between the Invictus Task Force and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of a 69-year-old man on serious charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor.
The operation was initiated following a cyber tip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Acting on this crucial information, law enforcement executed a search warrant at 2218 Lick Fork Creek Rd. in Reidsville, NC.
As a result of the investigation, Daniel Ervin West was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Felony Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
West was subsequently transported to the Rockingham County Detention Center.
A magistrate issued a $100,000 secured bond for West, and his first appearance in Rockingham County District Court has been scheduled.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward and contact either the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office or the HSI Task Force.
The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to the HSI Task Force and the Invictus Task Force for their invaluable assistance in this matter.
