The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office is continuing its search for Morris Fain, 79, who was reported missing on January 13, 2025. Authorities are seeking the public's help in locating Fain, who was last seen driving a 2001 white Nissan Altima with a taillight out and a handicap placard hanging from the rearview mirror.
Fain was last heard from at approximately 4:30 p.m. on January 13 while en route to 312 Acme Street in Reidsville. He never arrived at his destination, prompting concern from family members and authorities.
Following the initial missing person report, investigators received information about two sightings of Fain in Danville, Virginia, on the evening of January 13:
Auto Zone: Fain reportedly stopped to ask for directions back to Reidsville, stating he had become lost.
Liberty Gas Station: Fain again requested directions to Reidsville and was escorted by a motorist to the US 29 Bypass. He was last seen entering the southbound lane of the bypass.
Fain was wearing a flannel button-up shirt, blue jeans, and gray “Hey Dude” shoes at the time of his disappearance.
Family members have not heard from Fain, and attempts to contact him by cell phone have been unsuccessful.
His phone is believed to be powered off, according to his service provider.
Authorities in both Rockingham County, North Carolina, and Danville, Virginia, are actively investigating his disappearance.
Anyone who sees Morris Fain or his vehicle is urged to call 9-1-1 immediately to report his location.
