Search Warrant Execution Leads to Multiple Drug Charges in Madison, N.C.

Madison, N.C. (BTW21) March 20, 2025 – In the early hours of March 20, 2025, following an extensive investigation, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at 603 Williams Rd., Madison, N.C.


The search resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal drugs, including Fentanyl, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Marijuana, pills, drug paraphernalia, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.


As a result of the search, 50-year-old Shea Eugene Penney, a resident of the address, was arrested and charged with several serious offenses. The charges include:


  • Felony Possession With Intent to Sell or Distribute Cocaine (PWISD)

  • Felony Possession With Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Distribute Methamphetamine (PWIMSD)

  • Trafficking in Opium or Heroin (Fentanyl)

  • Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana (Up to ½ oz.)

  • Misdemeanor Simple Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance

  • Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

  • Misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer


Penney was transported to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility, where he is being held under a $250,000 secured bond.


He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.


The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office remains vigilant in its efforts to combat drug-related offenses and continue its work to keep the community safe from dangerous substances.
