HENRY COUNTY, VA – Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred around 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of AL Philpott Highway and Rocky Knoll Road.
According to state police, a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling east on AL Philpott Highway when it ran off the left side of the highway, struck a ditch and overturned several times.
The driver was identified as 58-year-old George Pierre Greer, of Martinsville.
Police said Greer was wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
