"Due to the unforeseen events that have taken place I would like to make a public announcement. First and foremost I would like to extend my deepest and sincere apology for my choice of words. I would like to extend my apology to this community, the African American race, my friends, and all those my words have affected. My words did not come from a place of malice, although I have learned through the abundance of comments made how it was malicious despite my intentions. There is no justification for my words although taken out of context. I am taking full responsibility for my actions and I am deeply sorry. For those who know me, they know I love and support my community despite any race or ethnic background. I have always been a giving man because I came from nothing. I worked hard, took time away from my family and devoted myself to this community. A ten second clip has taken everything away and viewed me as someone I am not. Yes it was a family dispute, yes it has been ongoing for quite some time and I was at a breaking point. The word said in the video was said because it was said to me. Does that make it right no it does not but it was a terrible choice I cannot take away but instead ask for forgiveness. Skyline was started over 20 years ago with myself, Ben and Todd being partners. Through the recent events, Ben and Todd are buying my share of the company and I have stepped away from Skyline. I want to thank all of those in the community that have supported me and helped me shape the business I worked so hard for. I urge you to not punish Skyline as a whole, these were my actions and it is my punishment. Thank you to this community, the surrounding communities, the partnerships, and the friends who have become family. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ahead. God bless you all."
