Bassett, VA — April 11, 2025 (BTW21) A devastating structure fire broke out on Thursday evening at 792 Oak Crest Circle in Bassett, Virginia, resulting in the complete loss of the residence. 

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.​

Local fire crews responded swiftly to the blaze, but despite their efforts, the home was declared a total loss.

 The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.​

This incident adds to the growing concern over fire safety in the area. 

According to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System, structure fires account for approximately 46.5% of all fire incidents in Bassett, highlighting the need for increased awareness and preventive measures.

The American Red Cross has been notified and is expected to provide assistance to those affected by the fire.
