Suspect Arrested After Threatening Explosion at Henry County Dollar General

Authorities in Henry County were called to the Dollar General on Greensboro Road for the second time in three days following a bomb threat on February 9.

The threat came after two males entered the store, prompting an investigation into suspicious activity.

According to Henry County Sheriff Wayne Davis, the men behaved oddly when they arrived, and when employees approached them, one of the suspects threatened an explosion.

The two men then left the scene in a vehicle.

After the threat was made, deputies quickly tracked down the vehicle and arrested the suspect who had made the bomb threat.

At this time, authorities have not disclosed the individual's name or potential charges, and the investigation is ongoing.

This latest incident follows a similar bomb threat made on February 7, at the same Dollar General store.

The earlier threat came just days after Richard Rotunda allegedly entered the GameStop on Commonwealth Boulevard, robbing an employee at gunpoint.

Sheriff Davis suggested that there might be a link between the two incidents. "The one from Friday was unfounded.

We do have reason to believe that the GameStop robbery suspect was involved with the placement of that bomb threat call as a means to draw our resources away," Davis stated.

The bomb threats have prompted a response from multiple agencies, including Henry County Public Safety, Virginia State Police, and the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
