
 A suspect has been taken into custody following a reported assault at a location on West Kings Highway in Eden.
According to the Eden Police Department, officers responded to the incident at UNCR, located at 117 W. Kings Highway, on February 23, 2025.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim and were able to identify the suspect as James Edward Christley Jr.
Christley was subsequently located and taken into custody without incident.
Christley has been charged with multiple felony and misdemeanor counts, including First Degree Kidnapping, Assault by Strangulation, Crime of Domestic Violence, Interfering with Emergency Communication, AID and Abet Underage Purchase of alcohol under 21, and Communicating Threats.
The suspect was transported to the Rockingham County Magistrates Office, where he was denied bond. Christley is scheduled to appear in Wentworth District Court on March 17th, 2025 at 9:00am.
