Two men have been arrested and face a range of charges following a string of breaking and entering and larceny incidents in Amherst County, the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) announced. Timothy Walker Jr., of the Lowesville area, and Nickolas Moore, from Nelson County, were taken into custody in connection with multiple thefts and burglaries spanning several weeks.

Walker, who may be familiar to local residents, was first arrested earlier this week after a search warrant was executed at his residence in Lowesville.

During that search, officials discovered an active bomb, prompting additional charges. Initially, authorities had served the warrant in relation to stolen property possession, but Walker now faces further serious charges, including breaking and entering and grand larceny.

Moore was also apprehended, and both men are now facing the full weight of the law for their involvement in these crimes.

ACSO said that during the execution of a February 24 search warrant on Gidsville Road, stolen firearms were recovered.

These weapons were among the items believed to have been taken by Walker and Moore during their criminal spree, which started in January and continued into February.

The charges against the two men include:

  • Grand Larceny (Felony)

  • Breaking and Entering (Felony)

  • Attempted Grand Larceny of a Vehicle (Felony)

  • Property Damage (Felony)

  • Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon (Felony)

  • Trespassing (Misdemeanor)

Walker remains in custody at the Amherst County Adult Detention Center without bond, while Moore is being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail, also without bond.

ACSO expressed their gratitude to the Nelson County Sheriff's Office for their assistance in the investigation and arrests.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges could follow as more evidence is reviewed.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to these incidents to contact the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office.

This case serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat criminal activity in the region, as local authorities work to hold offenders accountable and ensure the safety of residents.
