HENRY COUNTY, VA – Two young men were airlifted to the hospital after a tractor-trailer collided with a car in Henry County on Wednesday afternoon.
The crash happened at 4:24 p.m. on A L Philpott Highway at the intersection of Horsepasture Price Road in Henry County.
According to Virginia State Police, a 2006 Kia Spectra was making a left turn onto Horsepasture Price Road, but failed to yield the right-of-way.
The Kia was then hit by a 2015 Kenworth tractor-trailer that was going east on A L Philpott Highway. Police say the driver of the Kia, Trenton Sams, 19, of Axton, and the passenger, Trenton Cafferty-Smith, 20, were wearing their seatbelts.
They were flown to Wake Forest for treatment of injuries received in the crash. The tractor-trailer driver, a 57-year-old man, was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
