Two people, dog rescued after boating incident at Philpott Lake

The Bassett Rescue Squad boat team made entry into the lake from Philpott Marina to assist with the incident.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA – Two people and a dog were rescued Monday, after a swift water incident at Philpott Lake.

The incident happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. near Salthouse Branch Park in the Henry community of Franklin County.

A man and a woman along with their dog were rescued after their boat started to sink, according to the Martinsville-Henry County 9-1-1 Center.

Agencies from Franklin, Henry, and Patrick counties responded and assisted with the incident.

No one was reported to have injuries.
