ValleyStar RISE Foundation to host annual golf tournament in May

HENRY COUNTY, VA – The ValleyStar RISE Foundation will host its annual golf tournament, the "Big Tee Off," in support of the Children's Miracle Network.

The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 9, at Chatmoss Country Club in Henry County.

In case of inclement weather, a rain date has been scheduled for Thursday, May 16.

ValleyStar says the "Big Tee Off" is not merely a day on the greens; it serves as a profound opportunity to make a tangible impact in the lives of children in need.

Organized by the foundation, the charitable arm of the credit union, the tournament aims to raise funds for the purchase of life-saving medical equipment at Carilion Children’s Hospital in Roanoke.

The hospital annually treats over 40,000 children from 40 counties in Virginia and neighboring states, offering essential medical care to those who require it

most, according to a news release.

The funds also actively support local college students by providing scholarships at Patrick & Henry Community College.

The release said this initiative not only ensures that the funds remain within the

community but also plays a pivotal role in fostering educational opportunities for students residing in areas served by ValleyStar.

ValleyStar said this highlights yet another avenue through which they demonstrate their unwavering commitment to giving back to the community.

"We are delighted to host the 'Big Tee Off' once again, and we extend our gratitude to all participants and sponsors for their generous support," said Rachael Williams, President of the ValleyStar RISE Foundation. "Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young adults in our community."
