Virginia State Police are investigating a tragic single-vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality on Sunday, October 20, at approximately 6:47 a.m.
The incident occurred on Maury River Road, about 1.2 miles east of Millard Burke Memorial Highway.
A 1991 Ford Ranger was traveling east when it ran off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, and then crossed back over the road before falling into the river.
The driver, identified as 29-year-old Harley Ray Miller of Natural Bridge Station, VA, was not wearing his seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
