5 inches of snow possible this weekend for first winter weather of 2019 in MHC

HENRY COUNTY – As 2019 started on a mild note and little rain, it is time for Old Man Winter to make a come back.

This coming weekend, we could see a mix bag of snow, rain, sleet, and freezing rain.

Temperatures will be cold enough to start out as snow when the storm arrives Saturday afternoon into the evening hours. Throughout the overnight hours on Saturday and into Sunday morning. A heavy snow will take over area until mid morning Sunday. Temperatures will rise above freezing Sunday afternoon and develop into a wintry mix.

Later Sunday night, temperatures will fall below freezing and the moisture will turn back to snow.

The overnight hours of Sunday and into Monday morning, snow will continue throughout the coverage area.

Temperatures will steadily rise above freezing Monday morning, with sunshine expected and forecasted highs in the upper 30's to the low 40's.

•PRECIPITAITION TYPE AND TIMING: SNOW WIL START LATER SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND LINGER INTO THE EARLY HOURS MONDAY MORNING. SLEET/ICE WILL MIX IN THE START AND END AS SNOW.

•MAJOR IMPACTS:

A WINTRY MIX WILL FALL AT TIMES AND CREATING TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES, ESPECIALLY SUNDAY AND CHANGNING BACK TO SNOW EARLY MONDAY MORNING
