FIELDALE, VA – A 24-year-old Bassett woman has been charged for stabbing her mother in Fieldale.
It happened Wednesday around 10:30 p.m. at 207 Tenth Street.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded after getting a call about the incident and deputies say they found 42-year-old Jessica Ezzyk, of Collinsville, with what appeared to be a stab wound to her neck.
Deputies say they determined that during an altercation Ezzyk's daughter, Jassmyn Shelton, got a knife and stabbed her once in the neck.
Shelton is facing one count of aggravated malicious wounding.
According to the 9-1-1 center, she fled the scene on foot and was found by responding deputies.
Shelton is currently being held in the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond.
Ezzyk was transported to SOVAH Health in Martinsville, where she was treated and released.
