PATRICK COUNTY, VA – An Ararat woman is in jail after being charged for trying to stab a man to death.
On Wednesday around 9:35 AM, deputies responded to 2355 Willis Gap Road for a call of a woman trying to stab a man.
There, deputies found Janice Marshall, 70, and Benton Hall, 58, in the home.
Evidence obtained, including a knife collected at the scene, during the investigation led deputies to charge Marshall, according to Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith.
The sheriff said Marshall tried to stab Hall and allegedly stated she "wished she had killed him."
Marshall is being held without bond in the Patrick County Jail.
Hall did not suffer any significant injuries, according to Smith.
